  • INjoy Movement Studio – Pilates & More 2706 North Silverbell Road, Unit 3160 Tucson, AZ, 85745 United States (map)

Exploring the Connecting Link of the “Side Seams”

Awaken and strengthen your lateral body in a Pilates based movement class and an in depth discussion of side body stabilizing and mobilizing exercises that can take you and your clients to a new freedom of movement!

Are your side seams connected? Do you find yourself only able to connect to your core in supine or while doing a roll up?

Building awareness of the lateral lines of the body in movement can be a fun exploration of new movements but can also create new awareness and develop new tools for activating your core and connecting to your midline. Come explore Pilates movement through the lens of the lateral lines of the body and see how the outer line of the body can help you connect to the inner line of the body.

Objectives:

·      Develop awareness of lateral line of the body in all planes of movement

·      Explore your lateral body in a Pilates based movement class and then an in depth discussion of side body stabilizing and mobilizing exercises

·      Create a deeper understanding of the Pilates principle of Balance and developing body symmetry in movement

·      Discover how side body awareness can refine your connection to your midline

·      Feel the side seams connection to organize and free up movement not just in Pilates class but into standing and as you walk through life

·      For teachers: learn how to help your clients build this awareness, connect the front and back lines by strengthening their sidebodies. Get direct experience in your own body, of how an integrated side body helps you and your clients get stronger and achieve movement that was previously unaccessible!

Workshop cost: $120
